Open product links side by side and compare

David Hruts · · 3 min read

A friend sent a few product links in a chat, or a deal thread lists offers from different shops, and you want to compare them. Copy the text into MultiOpen and press Open all, and each product opens in its own Safari tab, ready to compare.

Open product links from a chat or a deal thread

  1. Copy the whole message or post. You don't need to pick out the links yourself.
  2. In Safari, open MultiOpen. On iPhone and iPad, tap the page menu next to the address, then MultiOpen. On Mac, click the MultiOpen button in the toolbar or press ⌥⇧O.
  3. Tap Paste, then press Add URL. Smart paste finds the links inside the text, even with emoji next to them, and drops duplicates.
  4. Press Open all, then switch between the tabs to compare prices, sizes and reviews.

Lists copied from websites and messengers, tables and links inside sentences all come through clean. More in how to extract links from text.

Take products from a search results page

A shop's search results or a wishlist page is a page full of links. Open it in Safari and use Page. MultiOpen collects the links and puts them in the field for you to check.

  1. Press Page. The page's links appear in the field.
  2. Delete the lines you don't want, such as menu, filter or help links.
  3. Press Add URL, then Open all.

A results page links to much more than the products. Select just the product listings first, and Page takes only the links in your selection.

On Mac, compare in a separate window

Under Opening, turn on In a new window. The products open in their own Safari window, apart from the tabs you already have. When you have decided, Close opened tabs closes exactly the tabs MultiOpen opened.

Keep your shortlist for later

While you compare, you open more product pages from the shops themselves, and the tab bar fills up. Press Save tabs, and MultiOpen keeps all your open tabs as a new Set with today's date. Close the tabs and come back to the comparison tomorrow. To add the open tabs to your current list, press Tabs.

To keep a list you pasted, press Save set and name it after what you are buying. Later, tap it in the Sets row to load it and press Open all.
