Open every link on a web page, or only the ones you select

David Hruts · · 4 min read

To open all links on a page in Safari, open MultiOpen on that page and press Page. The page's links land in the field. Check them, press Add URL, then Open all.

Collect every link on the page

  1. Open the page in Safari.
  2. Open MultiOpen. On iPhone and iPad, tap the page menu next to the address, then MultiOpen. On Mac, press ⌥⇧O or click the MultiOpen button in the toolbar.
  3. Press Page. The page's links appear in the field, one per line, and a message tells you how many MultiOpen found.
  4. Look through the field. Delete any line you don't want, such as menu or footer links.
  5. Press Add URL. The links move into your list.
  6. Press Open all. Each link opens in its own tab.
After pressing Page: 24 links from the page wait in the field, and the message asks you to check them and press Add URL.

Take only the links you select

Most pages wrap the part you want in menus, footers and sidebars. Select that part first, such as the search results or one section of an article. Then press Page. MultiOpen takes only the links inside your selection, and its message says they came from the selection.

On Mac you can also right-click the selection. Open Links in Selection opens those links right away, and Add Links to MultiOpen List puts them in your list.

Why the links go into the field first

Page does not add links straight to your list. A page has navigation, share buttons and legal links, and you rarely want all of them as tabs. The field gives you a moment to trim the list before anything opens. MultiOpen also drops duplicates and links that are already in your list.

Use it as a link extractor

You don't have to open anything. After Add URL, press Copy above the list. Every link goes to the clipboard, one per line, ready for a note, a spreadsheet or a message. You can also keep the links as a Set with Save set.

If Safari doesn't let MultiOpen read the page

Safari decides which sites an extension may read. When MultiOpen has no access to the site, Page shows this message: “Safari didn't let MultiOpen read this page”.

To fix it, allow MultiOpen on every website. This is step 5 of the setup:

If you skipped that step, Safari asks for access on each site the first time. Allow it, then press Page again.

MultiOpen reads the page inside Safari on your device and collects no data. Its App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected.

Pages where this helps most

On a long page, Page can find dozens of links. Before you press Open all, set Opening to When viewed, so each page loads only when you look at it. More in Open 100+ links without freezing Safari.
